Chips & Dips or Veggies & Dips

Anyone who knows me, knows my favorite foods to eat are chips and dips.  For anyone, let alone Diabetics, they will make your BG soar, because it's so easy to eat too many of them!

What makes chips so darn tasty?  Fat, salt, and crunch.......

So I found an alternative.  Hummus and crisp, crunchy veggies!!!

There are some real good Hummus's in the stores right now or you can make your own.  I use plain Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream for less fat and more protein when I make mine.  Just substitute it in the recipe you have or find online.

Bell peppers, carrots, brocolli, celery and many other veggies make great crunchy chips.  With the added protein from the greek yogurt, this is a complete meal, easy to pack for lunch too!

Many times, depending on how much exercise I've done, I don't need any extra insulin and it leaves me feeling great and satisfied!

Every Diabetic is different when it comes to the kind and amount of insulin they take, but the less of it you need, the healthier you'll be.

This goes for "normal" people too, I mean people not on insulin or drugs for BG.  If you don't eat the foods that spike your blood sugar, you'll start feeling better. I'm talking about Low Glycemic food here, and I really like feeling better, it's the only way I can get everything done!
