What a dream, to live insulin free!
I'm not talking about a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, because I know only the drug companies can lawfully make that claim. Yes, they went to court and took ahold of the word, cure.
I'm talking about living completely pharma drug free. I'm already off high blood pressure medication and the aspirin I used to take everyday to feel better. Right now, I still have high and low blood sugars. The low sugars I refer to as "Insulin OD", because they are so embarrassing and horrible for me. I just went to a funeral of someone who died of an Insulin OD. So I decided I've had enough of being ruled by insulin and never feeling good about not being able to keep my blood sugars normal. When the famous Cubs baseball player, Ron Santos, died of Type 1 complications, people I talked to said, and I've heard this many times before, that he didn't take care of himself. The way I feel is Insulin didn't take care of him. With the help of other Usana Associates, I've learned natural ways to get healthier and I've started on my road towards my dream.
Ninteen years ago, I had been a Type 1 Diabetic for 22 years and my husband and I were expecting a baby. Not a good combination. Thank God for my Mom, who was an LPN and could take care of me. She did a wonderful job. My baby was born 7 weeks early and had to live in an incubator for a month, but is now grown up, very strong and healthy! I was put on a high quality vitamin during my pregnancy, a horse pill I had to take every morning. A few months after starting it, my Mom and I noticed my fingernails were stronger and my hair had more color. I liked these horse pills so much, I asked my doctor if I could stay on them longer! I continued on them for another year, untill my health insurance became too expensive for us and I had to quit.
When my son was 5, I was not doing well, I was tired all the time, my hair was falling out, I had stinging dry eyes, thick yellow toenails and dry, baseball size spots on my skin. I was more or less, aging before my time, so I prayed to God to be a healthy Mom for my son. About a month later, I recieved a phone call from my sister in law, Annette about some vitamins that helped her and she hardly got the words out of her mouth when I said "I want some!" Today, I'm so happy I did!
Yes, I spend money on vitamins, but nothing compared to the cost of all the different drugs I'd be taking for my problems. This was part 1 of my road and dream towards total health!
