I'm sending out a special Thank You to my husband tonight. Last weekend he stopped and gave an old man a ride. We had been driving south east to watch our son in a play, when we saw an old man walking across an intersection, right in front of us. It was cold, raining hard, very windy and this man was out walking in the country. There were no buildings around at all, just a 4 way stop in the middle of snowy fields. My husband rolled down the window and yelled "Hey Buddy, do you want a ride?" He turned around and got in our car. We asked where he was going and he had to think of where he was and he finally got Rockford out. Concidering Rockford was an hours drive away, my husband told him we couldn't get him that far, but we could get him to highway #20 which heads that way. I could see the man was very grateful. I know there is a homeless shelter in Rockford, but I didn't want to ask him if that's where he was going, I just couldn't come up with the right words. So we got him to #20 and gave him a 20 dollar bill. He seemed very grateful. I wish this story had a happier ending, when we got home that night, we noticed the man's glove was still in the back of our car. Prayers are needed for him.
There have been many times I've taken my life for granted. I'm so grateful for my good health and my husband! Thank you
